The Clubhouse opened in November, 1924 and is one of the original structures on the Peninsula constructed in the same era as the Malaga Cove Plaza, and the La Venta Inn.
During the ensuing years modest modifications and updates were made to the facility.
In 2004 the membership approved an $11M major renovation and expansion of the Clubhouse. The exterior of the Clubhouse was modified to insure consistency with its original Mediterranean style, an addition of 8,600 sq feet was added for a new Grand Banquet room, and entire lower level was constructed providing more space for member usage. The facility now provides sufficient room to accommodate special events and member activities simultaneously.
The Clubhouse interior was also completely renovated in 2007 with the dual objectives of retaining the historic perspective of the original clubhouse design, and yet do so in an elegant and modern manner. Today the Clubhouse provides a wide variety of rooms and options for member and community events, dining, and social activities. Complimenting this excellent facility are unsurpassed views of the coastline from Redondo Beach to Malibu, and to the east the city lights of Los Angeles and the distant mountain ranges during the daytime.
